December news
We hope you are all keeping well, and not too busy in the build up to Christmas.
We have enjoyed decorating the surgery with our tree and advent windows and had lots of fun at our Pet’s Charity Christmas Grotto at the weekend. For those of you not lucky enough to join us, there was face painting, mulled wine, loads of delicious cakes, and our very own Father Christmas giving out presents and posing for photos with pets! As well as having fun, we raised over £300 for our fledgling conservation charity ‘From the Brink’. Many thanks to Amber, who did the vast majority of the organization, and to Patrick for being such a good sport! We will endeavor to get a few photos on the website.
Our other big news is the addition of a new branch surgery in Stapleford, opening early next spring. We are very fond of our characterful city centre location where we love being part of the local community and know that many of our clients value their ability to reach us by bike or on foot. However, we are increasingly busy and as there is very limited scope for expansion, we have taken the exciting decision to open a second surgery. Church Street Vets in Stapleford will operate in just the same way as Clarendon Street, with existing staff splitting their time between the two locations plus some new faces. More info can be found on the website, along with a registration form should it be more convenient for you to bring your pet to our branch surgery. We look forward to seeing some of you there in 2025!
Christmas is a busy time and full of potential hazards for pets. Remember to keep the Christmas cake, mince pies, chocolates and other festive treats out of reach. If you do have any incidents or concerns while the practice is closed, please call Vets24 on 01223 426600. If your pet eats something potentially harmful, two other useful contacts are ‘The Animal Poison Line’, 01202 509000 (a 24-hour helpline) and the ‘Vets Now Chocolate Toxicity Calculator’.
The Surgery will close at 12pm on Christmas Eve and reopen at 8.30am on Friday 27th December. We will close for New Year at 12pm on the 31st and reopen at 8.30 am on January 2nd.
We would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas, and health and happiness in 2025.
Patrick, Harriet and all the Clarendon Street team.
